The city of Lake Lotawana and their police deparment is seeking help from the community for one of its officers.

On Sunday, Jun. 7, Officer John Doubledee lost his mother and sister in a house fire in rural Harrisonville.

The city posted this message on their Facebook:

One of our officers suffered a tremendous tragedy over the weekend.

While it is impossible to imagine such a loss, he has the additional burden of dealing with the property as well as funding the funeral expenses.

A fund has been established with the Adrian Bank branch in Archie, MO to help alleviate some of the expenses.
