Former Lee’s Summit City Councilwoman, Trish Carlyle, announced her intention to run for re-election as councilperson representing the city’s second district on the City Council. Carlyle who was first elected to the City Council in April 2014 cited a desire to continue her service to the community and provide leadership on governance, infrastructure, and economic development initiatives.

“We have a unique opportunity before us with the thousands of acres that will be developed in the next decade. I believe my experience with development and infrastructure projects will be vital in helping to guide the city in the right direction,” said Carlyle. “We need to be sure we are growing responsibly, maintaining our infrastructure and ensuring the infrastructure in the older areas of the city is being upgraded.”

“Our city is growing and changing at an incredible rate and will continue to do so in the future. We have a gorgeous community with wonderful green spaces, beautiful parks, and an award-winning downtown area. I believe this is much of what attracts people to our city, and I believe it is important to maintain these attractions.” said Carlyle.
