Truman Heartland Community Foundation (THCF) is pleased to announce a record-breaking $427,323 in competitive grants will be awarded to 57 nonprofits on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the THCF Annual Grants Luncheon. In honor of National Community Foundation Week and presented by Assel Grant Services (AGS) and Mid-Continent Public Library, the Grants Luncheon will be held at the Midwest Genealogy Center, located at 3440 South Lee’s Summit Road, in Independence, Missouri, beginning at 11:30 a.m., and will include representatives from grant recipient organizations and THCF Legacy Society members.

Truman Heartland Community Foundation awards competitive grants annually to local nonprofits that fit within five areas of interest: Arts and Culture, Community Betterment, Education, Health and Human Services, and Missouri Wildlife Conservation. Grant awards range from $1,500 to $20,000. Nearly $100,000 in additional contributions to supplement the awards came from Truman Heartland Donor Advised Fund holders and partner organizations, including Junior Service League of Independence and THCF’s Youth Advisory Council.
