Two Lee’s Summit R-7 seniors have been named semifinalists for the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Aaditya Jadhav and Ethan Wood, both students at Lee’s Summit West, are two of the 16,000 seniors selected as semifinalists.

Semifinalists are chosen based on their scores on the 2023 Preliminary SAT or National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) Wood and Jadhay will have the opportunity to continue in the running for National Merit Scholarships.

Semifinalists who want to continue in the running for those scholarships must complete an application where they provide information about their academic record, extracurricular participation, community involvement and other awards and honors. Finalists will be announced next February and scholarship winners announced later in the Spring.
