Veterans and loved ones are invited to join Village Hospice at their Veterans’ Educational Breakfast and Vietnam War Veterans Day Ceremony. The morning will focus on connecting veterans and their families to services available to them. This year’s event is scheduled on National Vietnam War Veterans Day and will include a special recognition program honoring Vietnam War Veterans who are able to attend.

Keynote speaker Gary DeRigne is the author of “One Young Soldier,” a novel based on his wartime experiences in Vietnam, and its sequel, “Angie’s War,” which is awaiting publication early this year. Gary has been awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service, among other decorations. Books are available for $20 (cash or check), with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Veterans Community Project in Kansas City.

Additionally, there will be representatives from various organizations who can answer questions and provide information about veteran healthcare, financial, and burial benefits, Aid and Attendance, Honor Flight, and much more.

Village Hospice is honored to be able to sponsor this event, keeping it free for all who attend. Serving those who served is a mission of Village Hospice, which is why they partner with the Veterans Administration and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s program, “We Honor Veterans,” and also partner with the United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration.
