Wedding Expressions by Geri is celebrating its tenth anniversary – and planning a move to a new location with almost 5,000 square feet of space.

Since opening in November 2011 on Main Street in downtown Lee’s Summit, the store has helped customers find the perfect wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses and outfits for proms and other special occasions.

The new location, near Missouri Route 291 and NE Columbus, features an additional 1,500 square feet of space, a private fitting area for brides (and their guests) and 82 parking spaces. The location will also include space to accommodate their growing tuxedo and suit business and an in-store boutique for Morilee wedding dresses.

Owner Geri Watts has loved being part of the downtown community and will miss her Main Street neighbors, but she looks forward to this new opportunity.

“Part of me will miss my original location,” Watts says, “but I am so excited for all of the new enhancements for our brides and the opportunity to expand our business.”

In the meantime, Wedding Expressions by Geri is excited to host live mannequins in their corner store windows for the last time. The annual tradition will take place during their anniversary celebration and the mayor’s tree lighting event on Friday, Nov. 19.

The new store will open at 920 NE Columbus pending completion of its build-out.
