The Kansas City Chiefs returned to work this week and the NFL schedule returns the Chiefs to primetime. Following a bye week the Chiefs, 7-2, return to action in a Monday Night Football showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles who enter at 8-1. Yes, it’s a Super Bowl 57 rematch being played in KC. Welcome back Chiefs.

The Eagles arrive in Kansas City sporting the best record in the entire NFL and showing no signs of a Super Bowl hangover. The Chiefs are also defying the odds by owning the AFC best record as this game wraps up the week 11 schedule. Both teams have experienced a survive-and-advance mentality in 2023. Before the bye week, the Chiefs defeated Miami 21-14 and the Eagles got the best of rival Dallas 28-23. Now the two well rested teams take the field where fans hope it will be as entertaining as the Chiefs 38-35 Super Bowl victory.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts while battling a knee injury threw for two TD’s and ran for another in the win over Dallas. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes threw for two TD’s in the first half against the Dolphins. A lot of even strengths between these two teams including each team having a healthy Kelce on offense. Lots of reasons to watch and delivering the TV broadcast is Joe Buck and Troy Aikman the Monday night TV crew.

A lot is said each season about Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s record coming off from a bye week. That record is now up to 21-3 but that’s not the only record to make note of this week. The Chiefs have won four in a row over the Eagles and lead the series 6-4. Coach Reid is a perfect 3-0 against the Eagles while in KC. With a win Monday night Reid will become the all-time winningest coach in Chiefs history. A record I am sure Chiefs players will want to deliver while the team is playing in front of a national TV audience.

There are many good reasons why the Eagles can win this game and just as many why the Chiefs can win this game. It’s been 29 days between games played at Arrowhead Stadium which means a little extra home field advantage for the Chiefs. The crowd will be electric and thanks to the continued stellar play of the Chiefs defense fans will be in a happy mood when this one is over. The Chiefs deliver a welcome back party to their fans as they leave the field at 8-2. That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
