Here it is…it’s time for a Super Bowl 58 rematch between the San Francisco 49ers and the Super Bowl Champions Kansas City Chiefs. This game was circled for many reasons on the NFL season schedule when it was announced in early May. The Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25-22 in OT and fans are wanting more of this entertainment provided by these two talented teams.

This much anticipated week seven matchup is a big one for NFL fans in general and FOX is aware of this as they will showcase the game to over 80% of the country. The Fox #1 TV crew will be on hand to provide the coverage which means former NFL MVP Tom Brady will be in the broadcast booth. So far the 2024 season is going well for the two teams as the Chiefs enter in first place of the AFC West at 5-0. The 49ers are tied for first in the NFC West at 3-3.

Over the last 10 years when the Chiefs and 49ers get together it’s been a game with a lot on the line and ended up being a close contest. The Chiefs enjoy a four-game winning streak in this series with two of the four games being Super Bowls 54 and 58. The last win in this series by the 49ers was in 2014 when the Chiefs started Alex Smith at QB and the Niners were led by QB Colin Kaepernick.

Both teams will be rested for this revenge game as the 49ers are calling it. The Chiefs just wrapped up their bye week after a 5-0 start to the season. The Niners played on Thursday Night Football in week six allowing them three additional days for rest and preparation for the big game against the Chiefs.

Injuries have played a part in the 49ers struggles this season and is apparent due to their .500 record. The Niners have TE George Kittle and LB Fred Werner expected to be back at 100%. The Chiefs activated RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire on Wednesday to aid the team’s ground attack this week.

A lot has been said about Chiefs head coach Andy Reid’s record coming off from a bye week. That stat is now at 21-4 overall, 8-3 with the Chiefs. While the Niners seek revenge it’s the well-rested Chiefs who will leave the field with another win. That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
