The 15 game winning streak is over and the term undefeated has been removed next to the 2024 Kansas City Chiefs NFL record. This a result of the Chiefs trip to upstate New York last week where they fell to the Buffalo Bills 30-21.

The Chiefs all season has been talking about a “three-peat” and not an undefeated season. The Chiefs, at 9-1, now look to bounce back this week with a road trip to Carolina as their attempt for a three-peat continues. This week there is no prime time game nor a standalone 3:25 p.m. game vs a Super Bowl contender. The task at hand is to play a regular noon Sunday game and don’t be surprised by the 3-7 Carolina Panthers.

At first glance this matchup presents the opportunity for the Chiefs to just coast past an inferior opponent. But this is the NFL and most of the Panthers talent is still growing due to being a rookie or a second year player. One of those is Panthers franchise QB Bryce Young who is being coached by Dave Canales in his first year on the job. The Chiefs with a win would sweep the NFC South Division as they have already recorded wins over Atlanta, New Orleans and Tampa Bay.

The Chiefs enter as heavy favorites and coming off from a loss the team talked about regrouping to start another long winning streak. The team was upbeat on Wednesday when practices started for this matchup. RB Isiah Pacheco and DE Charles Omenihu were seen working out but both will remain on the sidelines at least for this week.

Due to being in the NFC the Chiefs don’t see the Panthers much. Chiefs lead the series at just 4-2. When they do play it’s usually a good outcome for the Chiefs as Coach Andy Reid is 2-0 against Carolina and QB Patrick Mahomes is 1-0 in his career.

Many NFL followers are expecting a one-sided contest but this being the NFL the Chiefs may not win as comfortably as fans hope. No worries the Chiefs will return to the victory column and return home with their 10th win on the season. That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
