The Kansas City Chiefs wrecked the LA Chargers home opener and made 64,000 towel waving NFL fans in Pittsburgh boo the Steelers on its opening day, now the Chiefs will try to make sure there is nothing like that after the Chiefs 2018 home opener on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Two weeks into the NFL season and the Kansas City Chiefs are coming home with a 2-0 record. The team is HOT as they won both games thanks to an electric offense. Led by AFC offensive player of the week QB Pat Mahomes they averaged 40 points a game in the pair of wins. Mahomes has 10 touchdown passes through two games, the most by a quarterback in NFL history. Along the way to the early season record Mahomes has been named offensive player of the week each week of the season. The Chiefs offense has been spreading the workload around too as seven different receivers have caught a TD pass already in 2018.

The visiting 49ers have been uneven in their first two games of the season. The team is 1-1 as they come to KC led by QB Jimmy Garoppolo. Against Minnesota the well-paid quarterback had trouble and team lost. The following week he played better along with the rest of the offense in a win over Detroit. Entering 2018 season Jimmy G, as he is called, had a perfect 5-0 record as a NFL starter. That mark made the 49ers give Garoppolo a five-year deal worth 137.5 million dollars. The team also spent off-season dollars on defense, signing CB Richard Sherman away from division rival Seattle. This week the team talked about the need for a “complete game.”

Thanks to a record-setting quarterback in Pat Mahomes, the Chiefs were able to start the season with a pair of road wins and now look to earn their first at Arrowhead. The past couple of seasons saw the Chiefs go 6-2 at home. The last four visits to KC by the 49ers have ended with the Chiefs on top. The most recent game was in 2014 that saw the Chiefs win 22-17. As stated above the

Chiefs are a hot team right now and will ride the arm of QB Pat Mahomes to a third straight win on Sunday. The Chiefs players and fans will be chanting the team’s record of 3-0 when this one is done.

That’s What I REID Into It for this week.
