William R. Brown (Bill) of Lee’s Summit, MO, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, the 4th of December at the age of 84.

He is survived by his three children, Robert D. Brown, Amy McVay (Dan) and Steven W. Brown; four grandchildren (Ryan ((Lindsay)), Henry, Katy, William) and one great grandchild (Luke). Born and raised in Sedalia, Missouri, the son of Robert and Mabel Brown, along with his two beloved sisters, Jo Ann and Mary Lou, he moved to Kansas City with his beautiful wife, Beth, to raise a family.

As a young man, he served in the Army and National Guard and loved to cook and spend time outdoors, fishing and hunting; watching the wildlife and finding and eating morel mushrooms. Like his father before him, he was a man who appreciated the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed a good, home-cooked meal and telling a good story or joke. Rest in peace, Dad. You will be dearly missed.

A memorial will be held on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2024, from 1-3:00 p.m. at Langsford Funeral Home, 115 SW 3rd Street, Lee’s Summit, MO 64063. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at stjude.org.
