David “Duck” Heckadon, 65, of Lee’s Summit, MO passed away April 12, 2018 at his home.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 25, at Langsford Funeral Home, from 10-11am. Memorial services will start at 11am. Burial will follow in Higginsville Veterans Cemetery at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the MS Society or the DAV. Duck was born October 23, 1952 in Kansas City, KS. He joined the Navy February 1971 and retired March 1989. He served in Vietnam and was on the USS Ticonderoga and the USS Constellation. He was on the recovery missions for Apollo 16, 17, and Skylab II.
Duck is preceded in death by his parents, Earland and Annie Heckadon; brother, Danny Heckadon; and both maternal grandparents. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Diana; sons, Robert (Jaimi), of KCMO, Christopher (Tobey) of Lee’s Summit, MO, and James (Laci) of Little Elm, TX; brother, Larry, of KCMO; sister, Susie Stark, of KCMO; 9 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
