Students in middle and high school and their parents are invited to a Well-Being Teen Conference, sponsored by the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District. The event will be from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. April 7 at Summit Lakes Middle School, 3500 SW Windemere Drive.

The free event includes breakfast and lunch, presentations and a vendor fair as well as drawings and prizes for student participants. DJ Nate from Mix 93.3-FM will provide music for the morning. Examples of conference session take-aways will include relaxation techniques, mindfulness strategies to assist with stress and anxiety management, suicide prevention awareness, cyberbullying identification, parent strategies for parenting teens and techniques for development of a strong self concept. Theme for the conference is “Be Kind to Yourself.”
