Connor, 16, of Lee’s Summit, Mo. began his trail to Eagle Scout starting as a Tiger Scout in Pack 4054 in first grade.

In February of 2013, Connor crossed over from Cub Scouts and became a member of Boy Scout Troop 1054. As a Boy Scout in Troop 1054 he worked his way up through the ranks of scouting and passed his Eagle Board of Review on June 18, 2018.

Along the trail to Eagle, Connor has earned 39 merit badges. He has been a member of the troop leadership serving as Senior Patrol Leader (3 terms), Patrol Leader, and Assistant Patrol Leader. Connor has attended five years of summer camp at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation in Osceola, Mo. While at Bartle, he became Warrior Thundering Buffalo Cloud in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say, and is now a Firebuilder.

Connor’s Eagle Project was done in April of 2018. He hosted a Heart Health Fair at Holy Spirit Catholic Church and through donations was able to purchase two AED units for the church. He also conducted additional education with the Lee’s Summit Fire Department to ensure parish staff and organization leaders at the church were trained on how to use the AED if needed.

Connor attended the BSA’s National Youth Leadership Training as a participant in the summer of 2015. Connor is also a brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow.

Connor and his dad attended the Northern Tier Boundary Waters High Adventure Trip during the summer of 2016, where they canoed and portaged 75 miles and camped for 10 days in the wilderness of northern Minnesota.

Connor is the oldest son of Brian and Lisa Chism and his two younger brothers are also involved in Scouting. He is a junior at Lee’s Summit West High School where he is an honor roll student, and takes advanced placement classes. He is attending Summit Technology Academy to pursue engineering career interests. Connor is also an avid guitar player. He is an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Upon graduation he plans to pursue a career in meteorology, automotive engineering or music business.
