Eric Stoyanov,
Public Communications Coordinator

City Council will hold a work session Tuesday night in Council Chambers in City Hall. No formal action is normally taken during work sessions. They are intended for City Council to learn more about different topics.

City Council will hear a presentation from the Lee’s Summit Fire Department about its service and response capabilities. The Fire Department will also detail immediate needs that must be addressed in order to achieve certain benchmarks.

City Council will then hear a presentation about a possible local use tax. The use tax is applied to items purchased from out-of-state vendors, either online or through catalogs, that don’t currently charge sales tax on purchases.

The City Council work session is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Council Chambers in City Hall. It can be viewed on LSTV or streamed live online using the following link: https://bit.ly/2LCYbsD
