Eric James Edson joined Boy Scouts in May 2012. He advanced to the ranks of Tenderfoot and Second Class in January 2013 and First Class in June. In May of 2014 he earned his Star and then Life in November of that year. Eric earned his Eagle Scout in June 2018. Additionally he earned a Silver Eagle Palm and a 2nd Bronze Palm.

During his time in Scouting, Eric served his Troop as Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader and Assistant Quartermaster.

He attended summer camp at the H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation where he began the trail of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say honor camping program as a Foxman in 2014. He was called to join the Tribe the following summer as a Brave and chose the name Strong Golden Buck. In 2016 he was elevated to the rank of Warrior, became a Firebuilder in 2017 and this past summer was given the additional responsibility of Tom-Tom Beater.

Additionally, Eric went to the Philmont High Adventure, earned the 50-Miler Award, World Conservation Award, Arrow of Light and the National Outdoor Award-Camping.

Eric’s Eagle Scout Service Project was to build a total of three sets of bunk beds for the benefit of adoptive and foster families through Foster Adopt Connect of Missouri and Kansas. After building the bunk beds, Eric delivered and set up the bunk beds for the families selected by Foster Adopt Connect throughout the greater Kansas City area. A total of 104 service hours were completed as a part of this project.
