Dear Editor,

I note with concern the latest plan by the City of Lee’s Summit City to grab more of our hard-earned dollars. The Mayor and several City Council members want to charge a sales tax on our online purchases from out-of-state sellers.

The greedy spend-alcoholic Council members view the public as sheep needing to be sheared and needing to have their taxes increased.
When the Council members were candidates, they smiled at us and told us how much they care about us. Now that the elections are over, they want to increase our taxes.

The Council will give any developer huge TIF payments, give over a million dollars to the tax-alcoholic Lee’s Summit Chamber, but view us as sheep needing to be sheared.

Our taxes do not need to be increased.
