Recently, students from both high schools earned top honors in the State Speech and Debate Tournament held April 13-14 at Missouri State University in Springfield, MO.

Raytown South High School student Ahmea Parham earned first place in the poetry event.

Raytown High School students who placed in the state competition include Infinatasia Moore who earned fourth place in Lincoln Douglas Debate and Rae DeBoe who earned sixth place in Dramatic Interpretation.

The Raytown South High School Speech and Debate team is coached by Maureen Woods. The Talking Bluejays are coached by Zachary McGee and Sydney Crank.
