The Missouri Association of School Librarians (MASL) has named Eastwood Hills Elementary media specialist Kris Baughman as the second vice president for the 2019 to 2020 term.

As part of her second vice president duties, Baughman shall preside at all meetings of the association, board and council in the absence of the president and first vice-president; serve as ex-officio member of the professional education committee; serve as chair of the fall seminar committee; represent MASL at the biennial AASL conference when it occurs during the second vice-president’s term of office; and perform all duties set forth in the MASL policies and procedures for this office.

Baughman has worked for the Raytown School District as an elementary library media specialist for 14 years. In 2018, she assumed the additional duty of elementary library services coordinator for the District. Previously, Baughman taught middle school and high school English and social studies and worked as Circulation Supervisor for Rockhurst University’s Greenlease Library.

Baughman has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Missouri State University (UCM) and a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the University of Missouri Columbia.
