In a recent issue of The Call newspaper, Raytown City Administrator Damon Hodges was chosen by managing editor Eric Wesson as one of seven men who exemplify fatherhood. The article salutes men in a Father’s Day tribute.
“We highlight the men shown in the photos, who range from retired to a city administrator and pastors as well as a financial planner, as a small example of black men who we know are personally active in their child’s life or giving back to other children in the community by either example or hands on personally mentoring youth,” the article reads.
Hodges was appointed City Administrator in 2018 and was previously Raytown’s Public Works Director. Prior to Raytown, he served 15 years at the City of Kansas City, Missouri. He is active in his church, Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, and was a youth sports coach for nearly 10 years. Hodges has been married for more than 20 years and has three children, all of whom he supports by attending their various games, practices, and other activities.
