Scout Troop 220 recently held an Eagle Scout Court of Honor to recognize two new Eagle Scouts, brothers Landon and Logan Binger.

Eagle Scout is the highest rank in Boy Scouts. It is quite an accomplishment considering that the Boy Scouts of America reports that only about 7% of young men who enter the Scouting program attain Eagle.

Landon Binger is the son of Rhett and Laura Binger. Landon is currently a Senior at Lee’s Summit North High School.

He is involved with National Honor Society, Bronco Smart, Orchestra, Soccer, Cross Country, Track, Basketball and Baseball. Landon is a Four-Year Academic Letterman, a Three-year Varsity Soccer Letterman, Three-year Varsity Track Letterman. He is All Conference Soccer and a member of the German Honor Society. Landon enjoys soccer, exercising, hiking, skiing and reading

Landon has held important leadership roles while a scout in Troop 220, First Aid Instructor and Librarian. He attended Summit Bechtel White Water High Adventure Camp in July of 2020.

He is an Ordeal member in the Order of the Arrow. Landon is a Tom-Tom Beater in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His Tribal name is Tom-Tom Beater Swift Sprinting Armadillo.

For Landon’s Eagle Project he designed and built an outdoor classroom for the students at Great Circle Academy in Independence, MO.

The merit badges he earned are First Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communication, Cooking, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, Environmental Science, Swimming, Camping, Family Life, Chess, Shotgun Shooting, Geocaching, Weather, Aviation, Rifle Shooting, Pets, Wilderness Survival, Life Saving, Pottery, Wood Carving, Canoeing, Small Boat Sailing, Whitewater, Motorboating, and Water Sports

Landon plans on attending college and commissioning into the Air Force through the ROTC.

Logan Binger is the son of Rhett and Laura Binger. Logan is currently a Junior at Lee’s Summit North High School.

He is involved with Cross Country, Track, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball, LSN Chamber Choir and Orchestra. Logan is a Three-Year Academic Letterman, a Three-year Cross Country Varsity Letterman, 2-time Cross Country State Qualifier and a 2 year Track Varsity Letterman.

In his spare time, Logan enjoys running and traveling.

Logan has held important leadership roles while a scout in Troop 220, Patrol Leader and Librarian. He attended Summit Bechtel White Water High Adventure Camp in July of 2020.

He is an Ordeal member in the Order of the Arrow. Logan is a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. His Tribal name is Warrior Silver Striding Puma.

For Logan’s Eagle Project he renovated a flagstone patio and pathway surrounding a reflection fountain at Hope House.

Logan plans on studying Aerospace engineering in college, and to work for NASA / Space Force upon graduation.
