Kevin Matthew Curdy, 25, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 in Bellevue, Washington.
A visitation is scheduled from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit.
A Rosary will follow at 2:00 p.m.. A private family Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Our Lady Of Presentation Catholic Church in Lee’s Summit. The family will have a Celebration of Life after Mass at Centerview, 227 Municipal Circle, Raymore, Missouri, from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Memorials and contributions are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project or The Boy Scouts Of America Troop 391.
Kevin was born on September 2, 1994 in Kansas City, Missouri to Wayne and Karen (Wood) Curdy. He attended Our Lady of Presentation Catholic School from Kindergarten through 6th grade, Summit Lakes Middle School, and graduated from Ray-Pec High School in 2013. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 391 and attained his Eagle Scout in 2011.He was a Project Manager with Systems Pavers in Bellevue, Washington.
Kevin was a young Marine and was selected the Honor Graduate of his Recruit Training Class. He had the utmost respect, loyalty, and love for the military. He was especially prideful of those serving and those who had previously served.
Kevin had a love of life that was contagious. He was compassionate, kind, and his generous smile could light up a room! He enjoyed all aspects of outdoor activities, hiking, fishing, and hunting from the sea to the mountains.
Kevin is preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Keith Curdy and Jon Cook; maternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Wood; uncles, Brian Curdy and Jonnie Cook; and aunt, Donna Davis.
He is survived by his father, Wayne Curdy and his wife Mo of Raymore, MO; his mother, Karen Spitznagle and her husband Philip of Lone Jack, MO; his grandmother, Nickie Cook of Medford, OR; his sisters, Kristie Condon and her husband Darrell of Lee’s Summit, MO, Kelly Rimel of Raymore, MO, and Kari Jorgenson and her husband Justin of Cameron, MO; his brother, Kiel Curdy and his wife Jennifer of Kansas City, MO; step-brothers, Ben Stevens of Oak Grove, MO and Craig Spitznagle of Kansas City, MO; step-sisters, Jami Stevens of Belton, MO and Ashley Spitznagle of Kansas City, MO; six aunts; three uncles; numerous nieces and nephews; and one great niece.
