Summit Christian Academy (SCA) theatre students were recently honored at the annual Cappies Gala held May 31 at Ruskin High School. SCA 2014 graduate Corin Hoke received a Cappie award for her role as stage crew manager in SCA’s rendition of the 1950 hit comedy Harvey, written by American playwright Mary Chase. SCA theatre department received a total of 10 nominations for their productions of Meet Me in St. Louis and Harvey.

Cappies is a national program through which high school theater and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other area schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in local newspapers. At the end of the year, the student critics vote for their favorites within each category and present the awards at a formal gala.
