George Constable (Jr.) of Constable Sanitation was in his office with his dad and stated that they heard the noise and ran out and tried their best to assist the guys in the Town & Country trash truck.

The driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital by the Lee’s Summit Fire Department with minor injuries.

According to Sgt. Chris Depue, information officer with Lee’s Summit Police Department, the railroad tracks in the area are damaged and Hamblen Road will be shut down while the railroad staff evaluates the damage to the crossing. He further stated that the road is anticipated to be shut down for another 6-8 hours.
