Autism Outreach Fellowship is sponsoring a book signing and artist reception on Friday, December 15th at Budget Blinds in Downtown Lee’s Summit from 3 – 6 p.m.

John T. Wayne and Don Dane

John T. Wayne (grandson of the legendary John Wayne, and Western book author) and Don Dane (award-winning artist and poet) will be featured at this special event.

Mr. Wayne is a former Marine, and he began writing after his service in 1985. Wayne created The Gaslight Boys Series – stories about boys who were orphaned during the Civil War.

Wayne’s most current book, “Blood Once Spilled: The Gaslight Boys Series” was published in January, 2017.

“Orphaned as a child, Le Roy Ware returns from the war to the home he grew up in. The couple that took him in died while he was away and the land and house is the only thing Le Roy has left in the world.” (Amazon)

Don Dane lives in the KC Metro area. He began drawing at an early age and, in 2002, gave up his corporate job to focus on his art fulltime. Dane primarily produces realistic Western art in watercolor, pencil sketches, and oils.

Dane’s artwork mostly depicts the American cowboy at work and rest as well as other historical subjects, but he also likes drawing cattle, horses, buffalo, and other livestock of the West.
