Last October, the Boy Scouts of America voted to open programming to girls.

The first step of this was planned for the fall of 2018 with the admission of girls into Cub Scouting.

Pack 220, at the Lee’s Summit Christian Church, is one of the packs in the Kansas City area chosen to start accepting girls now. They are also the only pack in Lee’s Summit admitting girls right now. Other packs in Lee’s Summit will follow in the fall.

Pack 220 will hold an orientation on Monday, Mar. 5 at 7:00 p.m., at the Lee’s Summit Christian Church located at 800 NE Tudor Road in Lee’s Summit.

Leaders from the pack will be there to answer all of your questions about Cub Scouts.

If you have a girl or boy in grades K to 3 who is interested in Cub Scouts be sure show up Monday night. If you have any questions about any of the Scouting programs at the Lee’s Summit Christian Church contact Merle Bowers, Charter Organization Representative, at or 816-797-3432.
