Summit Christian Academy vocalists and instrumentalists earned top ratings at the MSHSAA District Music Festival and will advance to the State level competition on April 28

Summit Christian Academy is pleased to announce that 32 choir students and two orchestral students received the top rating (I) at the Missouri State High School Activities Association District Music Festival.

SCA Vocal soloists receiving a I rating are: Freshmen Ryan Wagy and Annie Harsch, Sophomores William Chapman and Hannah Helms, Junior Joy Chen, and Seniors Lucy Kavalesky, Michaela Loux, and Alley Brown.

SCA Small Ensembles receiving a I rating are:

Junior Senior Women’s Ensemble: Juniors Jennah Finnegan and Faith Dickey, and Seniors Madelyn Mahurin, Michaela Loux, Glori Gronberg, and Haley Noland.

Junior Senior Men’s Ensemble: Junior Blake Roudebush and Seniors Caleb Schumer, Jacob Dixson, Mike Werner, and Connor Healy.

Junior Senior Ensemble Women’s Quartet: Junior Chloe Nielsen and Seniors Lucy Kavalesky, Emilie Moyer, and Alley Brown

High School Mixed Ensemble: Freshmen Zack Oppriecht, Ryan Wagy, Benjamin Schwab, Mackenzie Madsen, Aidan Lahey, Annie Harsch, and Alysa Ward, and Junior John Davis.

High School Women’s Ensemble: Sophomore Sammi Lucht, Irie Kudrin, Hannah Helms, Faith Mendenhall, Isabella Totero, Anna Crook, Junior Joy Chen, and Senior Yuki Zheng

The two instrumental musicians receiving “I” ratings at districts were Junior Rachel Beumer with the flute and Freshman Benjamin Schwab with the cello.

These students will now advance to the MSHSAA State level competition to be held at the University of Missouri on April 28th.
