The Lee’s Summit Lions Club met at the Perkins Restaurant on Sept. 25, 2018. At that meeting their guest speaker was Jack Gatti, a senior at Lee’s Summit North High School.

This summer Gatti was selected by the school and sponsored by the Lions Club to attend Missouri Boys State, held on the campus at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg. Gatti reported to the Club that there were approximately 1,000 boys that had been selected throughout the state of Missouri and were divided into 16 cities with about 60 boys in each city. They role play during the eight-day stay. They learned through the program how the city, county and state governments work.

Each participant had a choice of which part of the program they wanted to participate in and ran for that office. Gatti chose law. He thanked the Club for sponsoring him and will always treasure his participation in this great citizenship and leadership training program.

Gatti’s father John was also a guest of the club and stated how proud he was of his son.
