LEE’S SUMMIT, MO—On Monday, October 01, 2018 at 4:43 a.m., the Lee’s Summit Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 3911 SW Linden Lane. Several neighbors called 911 to report the back of the house was on fire, and went to the house to alert the occupants.

When the fire department arrived, the fire involved the deck and the back of the house. All of the occupants were safe outside.
Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire on the back of the house. The fire had spread into the attic through the eave of roof. Crews removed some of the ceilings in the house to get to the fire in the attic. The fire was under control by 4:55 a.m.

The fire appears to have originated on the deck . Fire damage was limited to the back of the house and a portion of the attic with varying amounts of smoke damage to the inside of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
