The city council’s scheduled work session was canceled at the last minute when their other sessions ran long. The council had posted a 6:00 closed session, followed by a 6:30 work session and a second closed session at 7:00 for Oct. 9.

The work session had just two items on the published agenda: an introduction to LS Connect and a compensation plan update, both from Steve Marsh, chief technology officer. LS Connect is a citizen engagement app that is coming soon, according to the agenda file, for both Android and Apple devices. The compensation update was to share progress from a structural committee that was formed (along with an implementation committee) to address the concerns with a previous compensation study.

The city’s website was updated on Oct. 10 to indicate that the meeting had been canceled because “closed session items took longer than previously thought.” The first closed session was a joint meeting with the parks and recreation board.

At this time, the session has not been rescheduled. The council’s next planned work session will take place on Nov. 20.
