On Saturday afternoon, 10-20-18, at about 2:03 pm, Raytown Police were called to the area of 87 Street and Elm, regarding shots being fired. Police were then called to Popeye’s Chicken, 7601 Raytown Road, regarding a man that had been shot.

Officers arrived and found that the man at Popeye’s had been shot in the 9000 block of 87 Street moments before. It was reported that a dark sedan had passed the victim’s vehicle on 87 Street and someone from the dark sedan had fired shots and struck the victim, the victim’s vehicle, and a second vehicle that was nearby.

The sedan fled the scene. The victim drove to Popeye’s and called 9-1-1. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment and was in serious condition. There was a female in the victim’s vehicle when the incident occurred, but she was uninjured.
