Lee’s Summit Elementary School student, Austin Nichols, has been awarded with the Elaine Long Award. This prestigious award is given to only one LSE sixth grade student each year.
It is awarded to a student that is positive, kind, and hard-working. Austin was selected with input of the entire staff. Austin is a student that is respected and admired by his peers. His inclusive attitude and his attention to academics make him a sixth grade super star. LSE is proud to celebrate Austin.
LSE has benefited from the partnership with the Shepherd’s Center for almost a decade. The award was established to annually recognize one student that both exhibits a strong character and that work hard in class. Patricia Sword, the chairperson for the center will be presenting Austin with the award on Nov. 19th. The Shepherd’s Center members meet at the Lee’s Summit Christian Church on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. They meet together for fellowship, socialization, and a variety of programs.
