Connection Point Church, one church in two locations, Raytown and Lee’s Summit, will present its 38th Christmas production “My Story” on December 6-9 at the Raytown campus. With over 300 actors, singers and orchestra members, Connection Point will present the Christmas story using an original contemporary script written for this production.

As in previous years the cast and virtually all aspects of the Christmas production are the work of Connection Point members, most of which live in the Raytown-Lee’s Summit area.

This year’s contemporary setting employs the latest technology to present the story differently than in past years. From large screen projections to strong contemporary music, the audience will see the same story but in a new way. This year’s theme follows individuals as they portray their story as they come to understand the Christmas story and thus the title “My Story.”

As in the past there is no charge but there are only seven performances with 7 p.m. performances December 6-9 and matinee performances at 3:30 on Saturday, December 8 and Sunday, December 9. Each performance has a pre-show for early arrivers who also have better parking spaces. The church is located at 10500 E 350 Hwy. There are no tickets so it is first come first served and it is expected that performances will be crowded as the church has reduced the number of performances to give church members more time with their families during the Christmas season.

In its 38th year of productions, Connection Point has used drama and music to tell the Christmas story in Raytown and throughout the world. Early in 2018, some of the cast members produced its first Spanish language production in Guatemala where over 5,000 Guatemalans saw the production. Previous productions have been presented in Israel, Belarus and Venezuela.

Director Judy Hastings said this year’s production,” is totally new. It has been created for the next generation. People who have attended in the past will experience the Christmas story in a totally new way.”
