One Performance Only–Saturday, December 15th at 3:00 p.m.

By Carol Rothwell

“Christmas in the Village,” a holiday concert presented by the outstanding Lee’s Summit Symphony, is this Saturday afternoon, December 15th, at 3:00 pm.

The word “village” refers to the new performance home of the orchestra, the Pavilion at John Knox Village.

In addition to many favorite selections from the orchestra such as Greensleeves, The Polar Express, A Christmas Festival and Christmas on Broadway, several special guests will add to the festivities. The Midwest Boys Choir will sing, directed by Beth Files, as will Lee’s Summit native Anna Christine Woiwood and a quartet of R7 vocal music teachers. There will also be beautiful dancing by the KC Dance Company.

Doors to the Pavilion will open at 2:00 pm for pre-concert activities including photos with Santa, an art and jewelry display, and a cash bar. Following the musical performances there will be another chance for the children in attendance to meet that jolly old man from the North Pole.

Tickets are available at both Lee’s Summit Hy-Vee stores, Cosentino’s Price Choppers, and online at lssymphony.org. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door but this 16th annual holiday concert normally sells out, so advance tickets are recommended. Adult tickets are $20, students in grades 4-6 are admitted free with an adult admission, and other student tickets are $10.

Get a dose of holiday spirit at Christmas in the Village when you experience the sounds of the Lee’s Summit Symphony and its special guests on December 15th!
