Lee’s Summit R-7 School District middle schools recently recognized their January and February Students of the Month. Students of the Month are recognized based on outstanding citizenship, conduct, attitude and school involvement.

January Students of the Month from Bernard Campbell Middle School are Brooks Bilton and Ryan Mullins. Brooks is involved in jazz ensemble, Scholar Bowl, cross country and baseball. Ryan is a Mustang of the Month and plays for the BCMS volleyball team and Invasion volleyball team outside of school. Both Brooks and Ryan have made the Principal’s Honor Roll.

February Students of the Month from BCMS are Xavier Winston and Reagan Parker. Xavier is involved in the student advisory group, and he also plays football, basketball, tennis and participates in track at school. He was also the 6th grade student council president. Reagan is student council president and a W.E.B. leader, and she participates in volleyball and track at school. Outside of school, Reagan won the 2015 Battle of the Brains competition, resulting in their playground design being built at Science City.

January Students of the Month from Pleasant Lea Middle School are Brooklyn Vleisides and Nick Gerding. Brooklyn has been involved in Seussical the Musical, the awards assembly and yearbook. She also runs cross country, plays soccer and is on the swim team. Nick is involved in the awards assembly, choir and the musical. He also enjoys fishing and sports outside of school. Both Nick and Brooklyn are on the Honor Roll.

February Students of the Month from PLMS are Grant Wasko and Ellie Wuebker. Ellie has been an Optimist Club Super Citizen and is involved in the awards assembly, the 2018 Young Authors Conference, musicals and choir. She is also captain of her lacrosse team and plays the piano. Grant participates in track, band, and basketball at school. He is also the cross country captain and part of the talent show staff. Outside of school, Grant plays baseball and soccer. Both Grant and Ellie are on the Honor Roll.

January Students of the Month from Summit Lakes Middle School are Marshay Madden and Matthew McCormick. Marshay has participated in the school awards show, orchestra and choir. She was also selected as Homeroom Champ for honesty. Outside of schools, she enjoys swimming, reading, writing poetry and spending time with family. Matthew plays on the Exceptionals Softball League. He also enjoys playing drums, singing and playing video games. Both Matthew and Marshay are on the Honor Roll.

February Students of the Month from SLMS are Madelyn Clapp and Zach Doyle. Madelyn runs track, cross country and plays basketball at SLMS. Outside of school, she plays softball, basketball and soccer, and she is the captain of her soccer team. She is also a mentor in adaptive art. Zach is involved in choir and band at school. Outside of school, he plays piano, for which he has won two trophies and four ribbons. Both Madelyn and Zach have made the Honor Roll.
