On Saturday, April 13, Pleasant Lea Middle School speech and theatre students and teacher Niki Stanley attended TEDxYouth@KC at Plexpod in Kansas City.

This 5th annual TEDxYouth@KC was an all-volunteer, independently organized TED event for all ages. Presentations focused on ideas, speakers and performers that foster creativity, mindfulness, entertainment and more.

“We watched teens and adults speak on a wide variety of topics affecting teens today. It was motivational, inspiring, educational and completely out of the ordinary,” Ms. Stanley said. “I have kids who are now feeling inspired to put together their own material to share at next year’s TEDxYouth event.”
