Velocity Lee’s Summit recently announced their July 18 Pitch Pub Crawl will offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to win $4,000 and a new partnership with Venture 360 that will directly connect entrepreneurs with potential investors.

In two years, hundreds of entrepreneurs and startups have attended the Pitch Pub Crawl and dozens of emerging business owners have pitched at the twice-annual event.

Held in downtown Lee’s Summit, the Pitch Pub Crawl offers a unique concept where three entrepreneurs pitch against each other with the winner decided by the audience. In all, nine entrepreneurs are pitching in three downtown pubs with the winners pitching against each other in the final location.

The event is sponsored by Velocity Lee’s Summit, a non-profit organization whose mission is to grow entrepreneurism in Lee’s Summit. The first-place winner will win $2,500, second place $1,000 and third place $500. Additionally, the top three pitchers will win a scholarship to a Velocity sponsored workshop called Listening to Your Business.

“The Pitch Pub Crawl is a Velocity Lee’s Summit signature event that showcases the city and its commitment to growing entrepreneurship in Lee’s Summit,” said Jon Cundiff, Chairman of the Board of Velocity Lee’s Summit.

The July 18 event will offer entrepreneurs more than just a chance at prize money. Velocity Lee’s Summit has partnered with Venture 360, a software company powering the venture capital industry. Entrepreneurs that apply to pitch for a Velocity Lee’s Summit event at www.velocityleessummit.org are automatically connected with potential investors that have registered on the site.

“Raising capital is one of the hardest things any entrepreneur will face, so we, at Venture360, are really proud of our products that make this process easier,” said Rachael Qualls, CEO of Venture 360. “Our software platform helps to connect with investors, manage cap tables and report back to investors all within one seamless interface. We are so excited to offer these features completely free to Velocity-supported entrepreneurs here in our community.”

The Velocity Pitch Pub Crawl kicks off at Konrad’s Kitchen & Tap House (302 SW Main St.) at 5 p.m. The Pub Crawl continues at Smoke Brewing Company (209 SE Main St.), Stuey McBrew’s (321 SE Main St.) and concludes at Arcade Alley (316 SE Douglas St.).
