JACKSON COUNTY –The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting pavement work along portions of I-470/Route 291 in both directions tonight, Friday, July 12. Work will begin at 7 p.m. and will end at approximately 8 a.m. the following morning. In order to complete the paving, crews will need to CLOSE the following ramps and lanes:

o   ALL four ramps to and from Douglas St. and I-470 will be CLOSED for at least a portion of the night to complete paving at Douglas St.

§  Crews will do what they can to accommodate emergency vehicles. All other motorists will not be able to access these ramps during the closure and must find an alternate route.

There will be a single lane closure along both northbound and southbound Douglas St. over I-470.

Once the paving work at Douglas Street is complete, crews will move to and CLOSE the following ramps for paving:

§  The eastbound U.S. Highway 50/Pryor Rd. on ramp to westbound I-470.

§  The eastbound I-470 off ramp to eastbound U.S. Highway 50/Pryor Rd.

This work will impact overnight motorists. Motorists must find alternate routes during this time. All work is weather permitting.

For potential impacts to traffic, please review KC Scout cameras at http://www.kcscout.net or consult our real-time traffic partner, WAZE. All work is weather permitting.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones.
