Raytown, MO- On the morning of July 20, 2019, at 6:19 a.m., Raytown Police received a call to the 10700 block of E. 59 Street regarding the sound of shots fired and a crashed vehicle. It was reported that there was possibly a deceased person in the crashed vehicle.
Officers arrived and found that an adult male was in the crashed car and he was deceased. He appeared to have suffered gunshot wound(s.)
It was reported that, prior to the crash, the male victim had been shot by another adult male, who fled the scene. A female that had been in the vehicle when the shooting occurred, jumped from the moving vehicle, and was transported to an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. She was not shot.
Officers also received reports of a man shooting at someone else in the 6100 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard, not far from the crash scene. Officers responded to that scene. No injured parties, nor the suspect, were located.
Police are investigating both incidents. There have not been any arrests, and nobody is in custody.
