On Saturday, August 10, 2019, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Love Fun for Children will host a Back to School at Silverstein Eyes Center Arena from 10:00 a.m – 2:00 p.m.

This family-friendly event is purposed to allow the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office to connect with the citizens across the metro. The highlight of the Back to School Bash will be giving away 5000 backpacks filled with school supplies to elementary students and providing 200 booster seats for children! More than 20 vendors will be on hand to provide employment opportunities, low-cost immunizations (middle and high school only), STEM education, and more. A variety of delicious food trucks will also be present.

“The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is committed to showing our community we care about what matters to them,” said Sheriff Darryl Forte. “We know that getting students prepared to go back to school can be a challenge for many families. Aside from educational opportunities, events such as the Back to School Bash are necessary to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the community.”

The JCSO Back to School Bash is open to the public. Attendee do not have to live in Jackson County, MO, to attend. Registration will be on site. Silverstein Eyes Center Arena is located at 19100 E Valley View Pkwy, Independence, MO 64055
