The city council has approved a new preliminary development plan for the Estates of Chapel Ridge residential development, located near Interstate 470 and Woods Chapel Road.

Matt Schlicht of Engineering Solutions, LLC presented the plan to the council at their Jan. 7 meeting. The PDP includes an additional 31 townhome lots, a reduction of the total single-family lots and the elimination of three culs-de-sac in the neighborhood.

Schlicht says that a neighborhood meeting at the Lakewood Club House drew about 30 participants and ended with everyone seemingly on the same page about the development. The planning commission agreed, recommending approval with a unanimous vote in favor of the plan at their Dec. 12 meeting.

The city council also voted unanimously in favor of approval. Councilmember Craig Faith was absent.
