The planning commission has recommended approval for a new Firestone location near Missouri Route 291 South and MO-150 Highway.

The seven-bay tire care center totals about 6,200 square feet. It would be located in the northwest corner of the interchange, just to the north of QuikTrip and Bank of the West. There were no public comments, either in support of or in opposition to, the proposed development. Likewise, the planning commissioners offered no commentary or had any questions about the application.

The planning commission voted unanimously to recommend approval of the preliminary development application. It will next be considered by the city council.

The Firestone PDP was the only piece of new business at the Mar. 12 session.

Commissioners Terry Trafton, John Lovell, Mark Kitchens and Jake Loveless were absent.
