Lee’s Summit, MO — In an effort to protect lives, Gov. Mike Parson has closed all Missouri public and charter schools for the remainder of the school year. 

Student and staff health and safety is a top priority for Lee’s Summit R-7 Schools. Today the school district is called to exemplify its commitment to that priority for the good of its school families and larger community.

“Gov. Mike Parson has made the difficult decision to close schools in an effort to protect the health and safety of students and staff,” Interim Superintendent Emily Miller said. “Our buildings may be closed, but our service and commitment to students and families will continue. We want to thank our Lee’s Summit R-7 families and staff for their continued patience and partnership as we navigate these unprecedented times.”
