I have resided in the LSR7 district for 15 years. I currently have 3 children that attend LSR7 schools. I have been active at many levels within the LSR7 School District. I am a member of PLE PTA, LSHS PTSA, past board member of PLMS PTA, served on the Middle School Planning Team, and am a member of the LSR7 Business Roundtable.

I have served in leadership positions for several Professional and civic organizations, including past President of the Missouri Dental Association and as a board member of the Lee’s Summit Chamber of Commerce. My previous experience serving in those capacities and working with large budgets, affords me the opportunity to bring strong leadership and fiscal accountability to our school district.

The next Board will face incredibly tough challenges as the landscape of public education is poised to change dramatically. I believe, as a Healthcare provider and a parent of 3 children who have had to undertake virtual learning in these unprecedented times, I have the experience to lead the LSR7 district in these times of uncertainty. I believe I have the experience to guide our District in a manner that ensures the safety of our Staff, students and their families, while ensuring we are providing the proper educational resources to every student in our District. I am firm believer that we need to support our teachers and staff, and that it the responsibility of the Board to ensure we are allocating all available resources to our classrooms. I do not have any conflicts which would interfere with my ability to serve on the Board of Education.

In my spare time, I enjoy raising my three boys, being active in the Boy Scouts of America, and serving as MSHSAA basketball official. I am proud to be citizen of this outstanding community and look forward to your support on June 2nd. These are unprecedented times, and the entire landscape of public education has been altered forever. The next Board will have incredibly tough challenges ahead of them.

Be safe,
Matt
