It has been highly satisfying to serve on City Council for the past 3 years. I am running for re-election to continue to serve and to follow through on many of the initiatives started during my tenure such as infrastructure improvements, increased economic development and citywide comprehensive planning, including 4,000 acres of undeveloped land in Lee’s Summit, and to address the anticipated budget constraints due to declines in tax revenue as a result of COVID -19.

I will continue to stand in support of our professional public safety, public works, and core employees for their service and dedication, and I will continue to make retention and recruitment a priority. Not swayed by special interest groups, I base my decisions as a city councilmember on what is best for Lee’s Summit and its citizens.

If re-elected, I will continue to be a person of integrity. I will remain open-minded, share my honest opinions, and lead by example, promoting teamwork. I am comfortable debating controversial issues civilly and ethically. I understand that reaching a consensus outweighs getting nothing substantial done. These qualities have served me well as a councilmember for District 4 and are necessary to possess to move Lee’s Summit forward in a positive way.

As a 34-year resident of Lee’s Summit and of District 4, I am passionate about serving Lee’s Summit, my neighbors and my constituents. Lee’s Summit has always been a great place to live, work and play and that is why I started a family and raised my children here. I appreciate the support I have received from my constituents. The past three years advocating for District 4 have been very productive. Many major projects have been completed that have improved the quality of our community during my term in office.

Yours respectfully,
Fred DeMoro
