A third co-defendant has been charged in the Aug. 10, 2020, fatal shooting of Lucas Jester during what witnesses described as a “drug deal gone bad” in Raytown, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

Deterice R. Doss, dob:11/04/2002, faces Murder 2nd Degree and Armed Criminal Action charges.*

According to court records filed today, the defendant told Raytown police that he went to a drug deal with the victim Lucas Jester. He took a gun, he told police, and he fired it at the victim before he and a friend fled the vehicle. He told police he later disassembled the gun and hid the parts in his bedroom air duct.

Two others recently were charged in this shooting. 

Prosecutors requested a bond of $150,000 cash.
