Good morning, LSR7 Team:

I am writing to share a few quick reminders and updates before the weekend and winter break (Dec. 23 – Jan 3).

Upcoming Board Meetings: Last month, the Board of Education determined it will hold a Jan. 5 meeting to discuss whether the pre-K-3 in-person learning model should shift out of virtual learning after Jan. 11. It also decided to hold a Jan. 14 meeting to discuss whether the grades 4-12 in-person learning model should shift out of virtual learning after Jan. 21.

At last night’s work session, the Board decided to add grades 4-6 to the Jan. 5 discussion. The learning model for grades Pre-K-6 will be discussed on Jan. 5. The learning model for grades 7-12 will still be discussed on Jan. 14.

Secondary Declaration: A reminder that the window for parents or guardians to request a change in learning model for a middle or high school student next semester closes at midnight on Sunday, Dec. 20. This change can be initiated in the PowerSchool portal. Those with questions or issues should call their front office building today.

Antigen Rapid Testing: Rapid antigen testing services for both students and staff will not be open during winter break (Dec. 23 – Jan 3.) Services will resume on Jan. 4. Families will continue to access these services by calling their school nurses after we return.

CSIP Survey: A survey regarding district priorities has been created as part of a collaborative process the district is engaging in as it builds its next strategic plan, or Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP). These plans are required by the state, and will determine the district’s goals and focus areas for the next four to five years. All LSR7 parents, staff members, students and community members are invited to take the survey here: https://tinyurl.com/y65jt3m4

Thank you for your cooperation and support. We wish you a happy and safe winter break.
