A 29-year-old Kansas City man has been charged in the Jan. 13 fatal attacks and stabbings of his aunt and uncle in Raytown, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced today.

According to court records filed today, Raytown Police dispatch received a 911 call from one of the victims, Kenneth McKenzie, who sounded distressed and stated “Des” before repeating “911, help 911.
In a second call, the victim stated “Help 8234 Hedges and my nephew’s here.” After responding to the address, police found a naked man inside covered in blood. He was suffering from multiple gunshots and was transported to a hospital. Inside, police found two deceased victims, Etta and Kenneth McKenzie.
Blood was found throughout the house and multiple knives were found. Earlier in the evening on Jan. 12, the Defendant committed a carjacking in Kansas City, MO around 11:30 pm. He was charged recently in that crime.
The Defendant drove that car to his aunt’s and uncle’s house. He grabbed a knife and stabbed both victims but they fled to other rooms. He attacked them again. The victims had numerous stab wounds. The Defendant admitted stabbing the victims.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $500,000 cash.
