Lee’s Summit CARES will present “Cyberbullying: Information for Parents” during a free webinar scheduled from 11:30 to 12:15 Oct. 20. The session is offered in an engaging Zoom environment through the non-profit organization’s Positive Parenting Practices.

This convenient webinar will be presented by Kerri Gray, M.S., LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist) and prevention manager for ReDiscover. For 28 years, she has worked to help individuals and families overcome challenges and reach their full potential. Kerri and her husband also have four children.

“Cyberbullying is a form of harassment using electronic means,” Gray said. “It has become increasingly common, especially among teenagers, as the digital sphere has expanded and technology has advanced. Join us to learn more about trends, steps to better protect youth and what to do if your child or teen is targeted.”

Pre-registration is required for the webinar by visiting this webpage. In addition, all Positive Parenting Practices sessions are posted at Lee’s Summit CARES YouTube after each monthly webinar is complete.

Other webinars, available via Lee’s Summit CARES YouTube, include youth mental health, managing change and transitions, parenting teens, helping young people overcome social anxiety, “Win or Lose, How Parents Can Help Develop Champions for Life,” managing holiday stress, how to open a meaningful discussion with someone who may be contemplating suicide, helping adolescents make smart choices about underage drinking, back-to-school success, mindfulness, adapting to change, motivation, handling stress and “Creative Parent Responses to ‘I’m Bored’.”
