I’m Ted Diehl and I’m excited to announce my run for Lee’s Summit City Council district 3.

It is my belief that public service is a responsibility that we all share and that we should all be willing to contribute our time and best effort toward the well being of the community in which we live. I love this city and know that Lee’s Summit can be even better if we make good long – term decisions. My wife and I have lived in this community over 20 year and worked in Lee’s Summit much of that time. We purchased a house and raised a child in Lee’s Summit, this is our home.

Assisting our local businesses and residents coming out of this pandemic is a priority for me. We must always do what is best for our local community. While it is necessary to work with regional governments at times we should do so with the concept of governing in a way that protects the interests of our residents and our economy. In that interest I would vigilantly protect the rights of businesses to operate as they see fit provided they aren’t violating any state or federal law and protect our residents rights to make their own health care decisions.

My commitment is to serve the citizens of this great community, and contribute to its growth and prosperity. I will promote public safety and advancing common sense legislation. I believe that the government should be good stewards of the taxpayers money and I will always bring that perspective to the table.
